この3月は、新しい仲間と先輩同僚出会ったり、自分が本当に何をしたいのかが見えてきたり、めっちゃ充実してた！日本に来る前に思い描いてた日々を、今ちゃんと生きてるのが嬉しい。

Sometimes life surprises you when you least expect it. I’ve been working in a 4-star hotel with an amazing team, where everything just clicked, the vibe, the people, the energy. I wasn’t looking for a change, but then came the call, an invitation and then the surreal moment…

an offer to step into a new role in HR management with a 5-star hotel.

It feels incredible to be back in the HR field, especially here in Japan, where it’s like a whole new world to explore. I’ve always believed in staying ready for whatever comes my way, and it’s such a reminder that when the right opportunity knocks, you’re prepared to embrace it.

So grateful for everything I’ve learned, and excited to grow even more. Here’s to a year of new beginnings and new challenges. ✨

人生って本当に、予想もしていなかった時にサプライズがあるものですね。これまで4つ星ホテルで、本当に最高のチームと働いていました。雰囲気も、人も、エネルギーも、全てが完璧に噛み合っていて、本当に充実した日々を送っていました。だから、全く転職なんて考えていなかったんです。でも、そんな時に一本の電話が。それは、夢のようなお誘いで——なんと、5つ星ホテルから人事の仕事のオファーをいただいたんです。

One of the most meaningful gifts I’ve ever received is knowing that you both purposely traveled all the way to Osaka just to spend time with me. You didn’t have to, but you did—and that speaks volumes about the love we share.

This month has been filled with so much joy, from celebrating Christmas and ringing in the New Year to the countless moments that have brought us even closer than before.

I’ve always considered you more like siblings than cousins—my little sister and little brother. And this trip made me feel even closer to Nevin. I don’t have a little brother by blood, but having you in my life feels just like having one. I’m so grateful for the bond we share—like family, always.

This year has been nothing short of amazing, a journey filled with challenges, growth, and countless blessings. It started as a roller coaster in January, but by February, everything fell into place. I’m incredibly grateful to have joined a truly green-flag company, where people are not just colleagues but genuinely kind and caring individuals. It’s been a place that restored my faith in the importance of a healthy and supportive work environment. 🏨

One of the biggest highlights was having my mom visit Japan for the first time. Spending two weeks with her and my sister here, showing her my world, and creating memories together was a dream come true. It made me realize how precious family time is and how much I treasure these moments.

Celebrating my birthday with my love was another heartwarming memory that I’ll hold close forever. I also got to fulfill not just one but two lifelong dreams—attending the Final Fantasy concert that left me in awe and hearing “All Too Well” live during the Eras Tour, an experience that touched my soul in ways I can’t even describe.

This year was also about personal growth. I achieved my second graduation, 🎓 mastered a new language, and closed the year by spending Christmas with my cousins that no longer my cousins, we are siblings—a rare and precious reunion that made me feel complete.

Looking back, I feel nothing but gratitude for the blessings that came my way and the people who made this year unforgettable. I’m so thankful for all the opportunities, experiences, and love I’ve received. 🍀

Goodbye 20s, welcome 30s!
If you’ve been following my Instagram, you’ll know that every year on my birthday, I post a ‘right there’ selfie to see how I look that year and share what I’ve learned over the past year, It’s become a habit to look back at those posts each year and reflect on how I’ve grown into who I am now.

I’m turning 30 today, and I have a lot of mixed emotions. Looking back at the last 10 years, life has mostly been smooth sailing, and I feel very fortunate. I spent my twenties discovering myself—figuring out what I could do in life, studying abroad, living on my own, building a volunteer community, moving to the country I dreamed of, mastering a new language, realizing I have a knack for languages, and diving into that. I started my own business and got a job in a field I’m passionate about. My twenties were great.

For the next decade, I don’t plan on slowing down. After mastering Japanese, I’ve decided to pick up another new language 😏 (hehe). I’m also gearing up for the biggest challenge of my life, bigger than anything I’ve achieved so far—hopefully I’ll accomplish it next year or the year after. So, I’ve got something exciting to look forward to. 🙌🏻

And lowkey I’ve also been thinking about settling down. I’m in a stable relationship, and I guess I’ve reached the age where I really know what I want. 😉

Thank you to everyone who’s been a part of my life. Whether you’re still with me or have become part of the past, I still want to say thank you. I am who I am now because of all the experiences I’ve had with each of you. Part of growing up is realizing that not every relationship or friendship is meant to last forever, no matter how good it was. So again, thank you to everyone. ✌🏻

Bucket list: ✅

Attending the Final Fantasy Orchestra Concert was a dream come true! 🎶 Even though my favorite track, “On Our Way,” didn’t make the setlist, I was still blown away. Goosebumps all over with “One Winged Angel,” “Jenova,” and “Aerith’s Theme.” Literal tears 😭

(And yeah, “On Our Way” is my current lullaby, so I won’t be shocked if it ends up as my top song on Spotify this year. Sorry Taylor Swift, you’re gonna be second place 😂)

FF7 was my first Final Fantasy game, and I still can’t believe they made the Remake. But seriously, I can’t even imagine how incredible the sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, will be. The gameplay, the story, the graphics, the visuals, the mini-games, and most importantly, the MUSIC! That soundtrack gives me chills every time. Just picture fighting Jenova with Aerith’s Theme in the background… next level!

It’s gotta be game of the year, no question.

(Low-key, if Final Fantasy X doesn’t come up with something crazy, FF7 might just take over the top spot in my heart.)

I have to say a proper goodbye to this game that I played for 6 years. Yes, I know. I'm such a loyal man 🤓
Final Fantasy: Dissidia Opera Omnia. As a Day One player since 2018, it was really sad to hear that this game will end this month. It was a very nice journey. I am surrounded by incredibly supportive communities. I remember needing to ask how to beat the Vanile Lost chapter (because it was insanely hard) until I could beat it easily only with Yuna, until level 180 Chaos, to level 200 Lufenia with the orb requirements, then the Lufenia+ challenge until the last with the level 300+ Shinryu challenge. I think I did this game pretty well😎 I also got all the necessary weapons and beat all the challenges. I even have a Google Sheet to record my process for all 175 characters. 🤣🤣 Also, I love when I always show off to my best friend monkey whenever I get good luck on my Gatcha, while he gets nothing to blame for his bad luck, and then made a new account for that 🤣😈

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour. The concert that I’m dying to watch. More than ten emails were sent to the lottery system since last June, but nothing came of them. I was so frustrated that I thought I should stop giving myself any hopes of watching her concert. Then suddenly, my dear friend Kate @_itsjustkate told me that her friend had a spare ticket. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻✨

I was surrounded by a lot of Swifties in my circles until, without realizing it, I knew most of her songs. I gotta admit that I enjoy them so much, but I wasn’t a huge fan until I heard ‘’All Too Well’’ and was amazed by how she wrote the song, which hit me in the right spot in my heart with the lines, ‘’Maybe we got lost in translation; maybe I asked for too much’’. Then I officially became a Swiftie.✨

I got so emotional when she performed ‘’All Too Well’’. #第六次沒有回家過年了 🥹

最近比較忙，所以還沒來得及po這一組照片。用英文寫了很長感覺還是用中文可以比較表達我想説的。😂

上個月我見了我一個很喜歡的演員歐萱 @jeanetteaw 。那時候我還在東京，看到她的烘焙的賬號po了在名古屋開了她在日本的pop-up booth，立刻就在她和她的經紀人的評論區留言問會不會在大阪也開一個。很開心的她的經紀人還私訊跟説日期。我也終於放下手頭忙的東西，去那支持一下。✌🏻

或許很多人以爲我從「小娘惹」才喜歡她，其實很早以前我就很喜歡「荷蘭村」的莫晶晶了。可是最讓我真正喜歡她的還是「志在四方」的趙非兒。而且你可以看各個媒體，藝人，粉絲全部都爲她得到最佳女主角而開心，比起只是一個女演員得獎我覺得是一個象徵一個成功演員不只是演技好還是人緣好而且被所有人認可的一個好演員。真的爲她驕傲。（我還記得我在電腦前面歡呼呢哈哈😂）

My very first post of 2024! 🤖

January is like a healing month for me—to actually put down my social media and live in the present. Yes, I wasn’t really active on social media recently, but a lot of good things happened during this time.

🎉I passed N2 JLPT. Learning languages is always something that I enjoy! I’m glad that within one year I can pass the N2. Next N1!

🍰 Meet my favorite actress and talk a bit to her. (I will make another post for this one.)

🏨 Finally, end my job-hunting era and get a job that I am interested in! Japanese culture is so different when it comes to job hunting; it takes so many things to notice and so many steps, and it’s not easy. After taking a few interviews, tests, and internships for the past few months, I finally got three job offers in Tokyo and Osaka. and I decided to choose to pursue more of my career in the hospitality industry. It would be a whole new field for me, but I’m trembling with excitement.

I would love to thank those who care and are concerned about my progress all the time. You guys made me feel like this progress was just like a group activity because I feel like I’m not alone at all 🤣😂 (My milktea, my fam, akik, Peggy, Babilica, Wilson, Monkey, KT and all my support system in Japan like Kume, shaniabanana, aditenchou, etc) Blessed🫶🏻

2023 is such a blessed year to grow. I learned a lot in 2023.

I thought I was changing a lot this year, even losing myself. Especially now, in the state where I got hit on the right spot by adult life. But looking back to my gallery for diggin' up this whole year's memories. I'm probably still the old me, who didn't lose myself but was just growing. I'm still the same old me; when I felt stressed, I could directly buy a flight ticket and set up a trip somewhere to charge my inner battery. Like I did to Kawagoe this winter. 🌨️

This year is a special year for me, especially living in Japan for one year. I spent my first spring in Tokyo 🌸(my very first Hanami), went to Final Fantasy Kabuki🎭, and went to my first fireworks festival in Osaka. 🎆Now it is very chill for me to go to Onsen naked😂 (like I did in Kinosaki Onsen)I think I started to adapt to my life as a student in Japan.

I am also dealing with my anxiety this year about uncertain things. I've been in a relationship crisis and don't know what I really want in a relationship. But I never thought that I would receive so much love and support from people around me. (It made me start to feel pity for myself 5 years ago, and I could imagine how lonely Santo was 5 years ago.) Let me know that people who care will care. People who love will love. I met a lot of amazing people this year—new friends and one group after another—but old friends have always been there. It made me see the color of friendship. 🍀

As always, every year, I'll do a brief recap of what happened this whole year to remind myself. This year, we ticked 33/100 off my bucket list, as I expected. This is all because of you guys, who are always there for me. Thank you! Next year, let's rock and roll again! With this, I close the chapter in 2023 with gratitude and growth. 🤘🏻 #swo
